Our educational camps and outreach programs began in 2001 and continue to be a vital part of our mission to enhance, support, and supplement the music programs offered through the regional schools.
BATB is a week of string orchestra and chamber music for middle school and high school string players.
The camp takes place in the beautiful gardens and air-conditioned barns of Prairie Pines, 4055 N. Tyler Road, Maize, KS.
Camp includes two string orchestras, chamber music (string quartets, trios, and more), and creative music classes.
Along with the amazing faculty, the Internationally famous Scottish Fiddler Alasdair Fraser and cellist Natalie Haas will be our special guests for an afternoon concert and small ensemble coachings.
Come explore, make music with your friends and enjoy the beauty of nature at Bows at The Barn!

The Northeast Area Strings Academy of Wichita has provided opportunities for string students in the Wichita area for over 25 years!
We are an 8-week summer program giving participants an opportunity to work with outstanding string teachers in a private lesson setting and/or in small ensembles.
We close out our summer program with a recital, and all students participate in a performance for family and friends.
This year, it thrills us to have Dr. Tim Jones (Associate Concertmaster for the Wichita Symphony and former NASAW student) conduct a music workshop for our students.
Dr. Jones is a tremendous community resource, and participants can ask questions to help improve their playing skills.
You won’t want to miss this workshop with Dr. Jones!
Students can sign up for NASAW for just $65.00
Participants receive a free NASAW t-shirt with paid tuition.
Students may enroll now by contacting Pam Lawson.
We also encourage students to check with their school music teachers before enrolling.
