YOUNG CHAMBER PLAYERS - BOWS AT THE BARN
Be inspired.  Be Challenged.  Be at The Barn.
Young Chamber Players - Bows at The Barn is designed to strengthen the musical development of students who are already playing a stringed instrument. Students entering the sixth grade or have a minimum of one year experience are encouraged to audition. Students will be placed in ensembles of similar musical development.

Enjoy a week of ensemble playing, coaching, recreation, and just hangin' out with friends.  Other activities include choir and swimming.  Final concert for ensembles and orchestra will be Saturday morning, July 17.  

Placement auditions will be held prior to camp.  Tuition, including lunch, is $250. A $50 deposit is due by June 15, and the balance due by July 1. You will be advised of an audition time after receipt of deposit and application.

Young Chamber Players - Bows at The Barn takes place at Prairie Pines Christmas Tree Farm, 4055 N. Tyler, Maize, KS 67101.
The camp day runs from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm.
All buildings are air-conditioned and handicapped accessible.

ERIC CRAWFORD

Eric Crawford is Director of Orchestras at Wichita East High School, and serves as the Orchestra Curriculum Coach for USD 259, Wichita Public Schools. Eric is also the director of the Youth Chamber Players division of the Wichita Youth Symphony, and has been a member of the bass section of the Wichita Symphony Orchestra for over a decade. A native of Dayton, Ohio, Eric received his Bachelor's degree from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York, and his Master's degree from Wichita State University.
DR. MARK LAYCOCK
Director of Orchestra
Dr. Mark Laycock is an Associate Professor of Music at Wichita State University, where he holds the Ann Walenta Faculty of Distinction Endowed Professorship. His work as guest conductor, clinician, and adjudicator spans 16 states, including the leadership of all-state orchestras in Alabama, Iowa, Nebraska, and Washington.  He earned a Doctor of Arts degree in orchestral conducting from the University of Northern Colorado.
JACQUELYN DILLON
Educational Consultant
Jacquelyn Dillon is Director of String Studies and professor of music education and string pedagogy at WSU. She is a conductor of the Wichita Youth Chamber Players. Ms. Dillon is a co-author of the Strictly Strings series and formerly served as national president of the American String Teachers Association. She is a frequent guest clinician and conductor with string festivals and state and national music educator events throughout the US.
